Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS)

IMS uses fine, solid, flexible, and disposable stainless steel needles to release contracted, and sometimes painful, bands of muscle fibre caused by an abnormal functioning of the nervous system. Similar in application but different in theory to Acupuncture, it does not involve the injection of medications.

As the needle enters the muscle belly you may experience a muscle twitch and an achy cramping sensation in the area. These temporary sensations can last up to 1-2 days after treatment and are considered normal. As this achiness resolves you typically experience an overall improvement in your symptoms.
